Founded in 1982 by Michael Dulac and originally named Schola Cantorum, Schola Nova is a choral ensemble dedicated to the performance of sacred choral music drawn from all historical periods with a particular emphasis on a cappella singing. The group, currently numbering twenty-three singers of diverse backgrounds, provides music for liturgical occasions, as well as concerts of sacred vocal music at venues throughout the Pioneer Valley and southern New England. Schola Nova, governed by an Executive Board led by its Director, Terry Larsen, is grateful to the clergy, staff, and congregation of its home venue Our Lady of the Valley Church (OLV) in Easthampton for their continued generosity and support. Schola Nova was named Artists in Residence at OLV in 2010.
