As part of a local choral festival featuring choirsters from East Longmeadow High School, Pioneer Valley Regional High School, and host West Springfield High, Schola Nova enjoyed the status of "senior choir" and presented a selection of sacred a cappella pieces familiar to our audiences.

Presented twice this Spring--once at First Church of Christ and again at the Unitarian Society of Northampton (June 7, 2009)--this program, entitled Rejoice in the Lamb, featured contemporary, a cappella works as well as works with organ or organ and percussion. Three prayers by Arvo Pärt and Britten's ever popular "Rejoice in the Lamb" bookended the program with a selection of smaller sacred choral works filling out the middle.

CORNUCOPIA--a concert for Thanksgiving: Schola Nova sang contemporary and Renaissance a cappella masterworks in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday. The program included works by William Byrd, Josquin Desprez, John Rutter, Alessandro Scarlatti, Ludwig Senfl, and others. A concert preview was offered before the 4p.m. Mass Saturday, November 21st.
